Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Pay: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour

About Creekside Nurseries

Creekside Nurseries LLC is a wholesale, trade-only plant nursery and distributor based in Laurel, MD. We supply trees, shrubs, and plants to landscape contractors across Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and DC. Your project, sourced.

The Role

We're looking for a dependable, hard-working driver to get our plants to contractor job sites safely and on time. You'll drive a non-CDL box/stake truck (under 26,001 lb GVWR), load and unload heavy nursery stock, and help out in the yard when you're not on the road. No CDL needed.

What You'll Do

• Load and unload trees, shrubs, and plant material (balled-and-burlapped trees, containers), by hand and with hand trucks/equipment

• Deliver orders to landscape contractor job sites across the DC/Baltimore area and surrounding states

• Secure loads properly so plants arrive in good condition

• Check orders against delivery tickets, get signatures, and turn in paperwork

• Do daily pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections and report any issues

• Talk with customers on site in a professional, friendly way

• Help in the yard between deliveries: pulling orders, staging, watering, and keeping things organized

What You Need

• Valid driver's license (non-CDL) and a clean driving record (we will check your MVR)

• 21+ years old (interstate deliveries)

• Able to get or hold a DOT medical card

• Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in all weather

• Comfortable driving a 16-26 ft box or stake truck in city traffic and on job sites

• Reliable, on time, and good with directions/GPS

Nice to Have

• Box truck or straight truck delivery experience

• Nursery, landscaping, or building supply experience

• Forklift or skid steer experience

In most of the nursery trade, sales reps work for a wage or salary and the accounts they built stay with the house. At Creekside we pay differently, and we built the business so we can. You get a real base salary, plus commission on the gross margin from every new account you bring in and manage. Your relationships, your effort, your upside.

Most nurseries tie up their money in acres of standing inventory, big yards, and the crews it takes to run them, and their sales reps' pay is squeezed to cover all of it. We built Creekside differently. We don't sit on a large stock. Material is sourced to order, brought in against each customer's order or PO from our grower network, and sent straight out.

That lean model keeps our overhead low and means we don't need a full yard crew. The savings go where they belong, to the person who brings in the business. It's also why this role can be hybrid. Your job isn't to babysit a yard. It's to take care of your accounts, and you can do that from the office, the road, or home.

About Creekside

Creekside Nurseries is a wholesale, trade-only plant nursery in Laurel, Maryland. We supply landscapers, contractors, and garden centers across Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC. We don't sell retail. Our customers are the pros.

What you'll do

• Bring your trade accounts to Creekside and grow them: landscapers, contractors, and garden centers.

• Build quotes and process orders accurately and quickly in our systems.

• Be the go-to contact for your accounts by phone and email: availability, substitutions, pricing, delivery timing, and follow-up.

• Work with our yard and delivery team so orders ship complete and on time.

• Win new trade accounts in our market, then keep them.

• Track your pipeline, quotes, and follow-ups so nothing slips during the spring rush.

What you bring

• An established book of landscape and contractor relationships in MD, VA, DC or PA. You’ll describe those relationships in your own words. Please don’t bring or send any client list from a current or past employer (see “How to apply”).

• 3+ years of trade sales in the nursery, landscape supply, or green industry.

• Strong plant knowledge (trees, shrubs, perennials, B&B and container stock) and fluency in landscaper and contractor language.

• Operational skills: you can turn a plant list into a clean quote, manage order details, and solve problems before the truck leaves.

• Organized and responsive, and comfortable on the phone and email all day in peak season.

• Professional, honest, and focused on the long-term relationship.

Compensation

• Base salary: $45,000–$65,000 per year, depending on your sales history and book of business.

• Plus commission on gross margin from paid invoices on the new accounts you bring in and manage.
